Instructions for Installing your Software

Here are the steps for installing your software. They are pretty straightforward, but it is important that you read them carefully. Another item you will want to read is the Interact-AS™ Quick Start Guide. If you do not already have one, then you can download a copy by clicking here. Let's get started on installing your software:

Step 1 - To install your software you will need an Activation Code, and to install a permenant license you will also need Serial Number. If you do not already have those, then you can contact Auditory Sciences to recieve them by clicking here.

Step 2 - Log onto your computer using an account with administrative privileges. Note that the account cannot be named administrator. Any other name is fine.

Step 3 - Exit all Microsoft Office applications including Outlook.

Step 4 - Insert your DVD into your computer. If you do not have a DVD you can download the software modules by clicking on this link.

Step 4a - If you downloaded a module, then the folder you downloaded is "zipped" to make it smaller in size. To install the files contained in the folder you must first unzip them. To do this, right-click on the folder and select the "extract" option that is displayed in the pop-up menu. This may several minutes to complete and to repeat, you MUST follow this step.

Step 5 - Start installing the software by clicking on the setup file that is located in your installation folder.

Step 6 - Depending on the configuration of your computer, you may be given an option to install the Composer Database. If so, click the checkbox to install it.

Step 7 - To complete the installation follow the onscreen instructions (most people will select Typical as the installation option). Note that the installation process can take well over fifteen minutes, please be patient, there are a lot of modules and components that are being organized on your hard drive.

Step 8 - After the installation is finished, right-click on the Interact™ icon that is now located on your desktop and choose the Run as an Administrator option.

Step 9 - You will be given the option to run Interact-AS™ in a trial mode (up to a total of 30 days), or to install a permemant license:

1. 30-Day Trial: If you want to continue a trial click on the Try button and enter your 9-digit Activation Code.
2. Permenant License: To install a permanent click on the Register button and enter your 21-character Serial Number.

Please Note: Your Activation Code can be used as many times as you like, whereas your Serial Number can be used only one time. You are welcome to use the Activation Code to install a thirty-day version of your software on as many computers as you like, however you will not be able to reinstall the software on the same computer once the evaluation time period has expired. Please feel free to share your Activation Code with anyone that you feel may be interested in trying out the products -- friends, family members, co-workers; all are welcome.

Step 10 - To complete the installation your computer needs to connect to Auditory Sciences’ server via the internet. This is a one-time event (you do not need any connectivity once the software is activated). If your network does not allow communication with an outside server, then contact Auditory Sciences for information on stand-alone activation.

Step 11 - With your purchase you will be getting free upgrades for your software for an entire year. In order to receive these upgrades, you need to register your purchase. You can do this by clicking here. When you register then we will let you know when new releases of your software are available for downloading.
